8th Grade Clay Masks
These started out as self-portrait masks. Of course, the students opted to alter them in some way. It's always great to see how far artists will take a project. Remember, for a closer look, just click on the photos.
This was a slab/relief sculpture project. The 7th graders were asked, "If you could design the entranceway/doorway into your heart, what would it look like? How would you share your essence visually?"
The 6th graders recently used two pinch pots to create maracas by enclosing clay beads inside. They then added heads and limbs and turned them into animals.
